Services - Aviation security
Since the attacks of 11 September 2001 the subject of terrorism in air cargo has been omnipresent. With the first EU Regulation from 2002 (Commission Regulation (EC) no. 2320/2002) steps were taken to secure the chain of delivery, beginning with the consignor.
To enable our customers simple, unbureaucratic implementation of Commission Regulation (EU) no. 185/2010 we have decided to acquire the necessary security checking devices and enter into co-operation with a regionally-known packaging service provider. This enables us to undertake timely security checks as well as guaranteeing and controlling all necessary work stages in a one-stop procedure.
Our services:
For the inspection of your shipments we have decided on a combination of the two principal technologies, sniffer detection
and X-ray technologies.
Primary inspection
Our X-ray device is a HI-SCAN 145180-2is (Smiths Detection), specifically developed for the requirements of freight forwarders and courier services at airports.
The HI-SCAN 145180V-2is system is equipped with two 160 kV generators at an angle of 90° to each other for horizontal and vertical views of the object (dual view); this reduces inspection times and ensures high-quality images. The tunnel dimensions of 1450 mm (57“) width and 1800 mm (71“) height mean that the system is particularly well-suited to the inspection of air cargo transported on standardised Euro, British or US pallets.

Secondary inspection
For sniffing detection we employ an IONSCAN 500DT (Smiths Detection).
This can detect a large number of substances and adapts to changing threats
and the requirements that these bring with them.
The combination of two IMS detectors in a single device means that the IONSCAN 500DT is capable of identifying explosives and drugs in a single analysis procedure.
The IMS detectors of the IONSCAN 500DT are identical to those of the IONSCAN 400B. The latter is used by aviation security facilities, government authorities and state prisons, the military and private security services, with over 6000 devices in use.
This two-detector device is extremely well-suited for use in the security field.
Aviation security staff and the military benefit from the ability of the device to detect
a far greater range of explosive substances.

The new aviation safety regulations also have a direct effect on the packaging of your air cargo shipments. To satisfy the new regulations these shipments must be both tamper proof and satisfy the requirements of the current methods of security inspection (screening/ sniffing).
Naturally, they must also continue to satisfy the valid standards (HPE)
and requirements. In order for us to be able to offer you all of this professionally and in the customary MT quality we have entered into a co-operation with the company Heinrich Steubing Sägewerk und Palettenbau of Mittenaar.
For many years now Heinrich Steubing has been active as a packaging service provider for both manufacturers of optical devices and a well-known manufacturer of aircraft kitchens, in the process of which it has gathered extensive experience in the handling of valuable and sensitive goods.
In addition, Heinrich Steubing is also an approved, regulated participant in the secure delivery chain.
