Due to attacks by Yemeni Houthi rebels, the world’s largest container shipping companies are increasingly avoiding the route through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. After the German company Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk from Denmark and CMA-CGM from France, the industry leader MSC (Switzerland\/Italy) also suspended its shipments on this route for the time being on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Around 12 percent of global trade is currently handled through the Suez Canal. The ships will now be diverted around the Cape of
