MT Logistics on necessary information
The European Union is introducing a new customs system for safety and security. It is based on a comprehensive cargo information system with goods pre-declaration – the Import Control System 2 (ICS-2).
Under the new system, all goods arriving in the EU must be declared in advance. Thus, the following data must be recorded before the shipment leaves the departure country.
- EORI number of the recipient
- HS codes for all goods listed on the invoice
- Exact description of the goods
The aim is to adapt the processes to the regulations of the Union Customs Code (UCC), facilitate the free flow of trade and at the same time increase the security of the entire supply chain. The customs system will thus transform the existing process in terms of IT, field of law, customs risk management/controls and prospects for trade operations.
MT Logistik’s partners usually take care of requesting the data above from shippers in the respective countries of departure. You can speed up this process by already making this data available to your shipper when registering the shipment.
