Due to attacks by Yemeni Houthi rebels, the world’s largest container shipping companies are increasingly avoiding the route through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. After the German company Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk from Denmark and CMA-CGM from France, the industry leader MSC (Switzerland/Italy) also suspended its shipments on this route for the time being on Saturday.

Around 12 percent of global trade is currently handled through the Suez Canal. The ships will now be diverted around the Cape of
Cape of Good Hope, which will result in significantly longer transport times.

Please take this into account when planning your trip. We will let you know as soon as the situation changes again.

5000 € donation for the Albert Schweitzer Children’s Village in Wetzlar

MT Logistik GmbH supports with a generous donation

It is always something special, especially in these difficult times, when people and companies in the region get involved for a good cause. Before Christmas, the Albert Schweitzer Children’s Village in Wetzlar was delighted to receive a generous donation of €5,000 from the Wetzlar-based company MT Logistik GmbH. The logistics company is headquartered in Wetzlar and has locations in Frankfurt am Main and Munich. The company specializes in global logistics in the areas of air and sea freight as well as express and land transport.

At the beginning of December, Susanne Högler, Head of Public Relations and Sponsoring at Albert-Schweitzer Kinderdorf Hessen e.V., welcomed Christoph Theinl, Head of Marketing and Sales at MT Logistik GmbH, to the children’s village in Wetzlar to hand over the donation. After a discussion about the work of the Albert-Schweitzer-Kinderdorf Hessen e.V., the day-to-day life of the children’s village and the various projects and offers, it was quickly agreed what the money should be used for. One part of the money was chosen to support leisure activities, which are primarily intended to provide relief in everyday life and promote personal development. The other part will be used for another special project – a theater project. Theater education projects are a good way for traumatized children in particular to come to terms with the past and negative experiences. Theater education projects are a good way for traumatized children in particular to come to terms with the past and negative experiences. Drama literally offers children a stage to try out new things and turn fear into curiosity. The positive response after a successful performance helps to increase the young people’s self-esteem enormously.

The Albert Schweitzer Children’s Village in Wetzlar would like to thank MT Logistik GmbH for the generous donation, which provides financial support for great projects and makes them possible.
